Meet Eek.

pre-s. This week's video letter is here. Enjoy. :)

It's finally time that you meet someone really important to me. Someone that's been with me for the entire journey of these letters.

He's my secret partner. My best buddy, my ace in the hole.

And his name is Eek.

He's a monster. A change monster.

Maybe even the change monster.

See, Eek is what started the idea of the monsters. He showed up one day, and gave this perfect personification to the idea of doing things that feel a little bit scary. He's been there as I've traveled to new countries where I don't yet speak the language, he's been there as I've hit publish on a book. He's here now, as I change careers into making art with my full focus.

And Eek is wonderful.

Every time I feel scared, unsure, that mix of trepidation and excitement, I think of Eek's face. His before, and his after. And I think, if Eek can do it, I can do it.

And I press send. Or publish. Or say, "Yes, I'll go on a date". Or "Yes, I'd like to confirm that skydiving reservation.", or most eekily, "Yes, I can share this hard, vulnerable experience."

Eek has been my companion for years and years.

Some day - I promise - I'll get the Change Monsters launched, and you'll get to experience him in his full awesomeness.

But for now, I'd love to just share him with you. So you can take Eek along when you need him, throughout your day.

My friends, this is Eek. Eek, these are my friends.

Enjoy each other. :)

-Steven

p.s The best thing I saw all week was this concert from Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu - to 2,292 plants. :)
