This week, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you for reading these letters. Thank you for coming along on these adventures all around the world. Thank you for being the tremendous, curious, interested person you are.

I am extraordinarily lucky. I get to live all over the planet, and experience different cultures, beliefs, and personalities. I get to write these letters to you.

This week, in the often busy crazy whirl that is the holidays, I'm simply taking some time to be grateful, and to share that gratitude with you.

Every week, I sit down, and try to craft a letter connects with you, adds color to your life, and paints a picture that you'd be glad to have seen.

Every week, you take a few minutes out of your life to read it.

Thank you.

Every single week, you make my week.

p.s. The best thing I read this week was a comment thread on the internet. No, seriously.

This astounding comment thread about Emotional Labor on a metafilter article gave me more to think about than anything I've read in a really long time.

Read the most favorited comments, just read the top and bottom, skip around, read the whole thing, or do whatever seems best. But I promise whatever minutes you spend on it - unlike every other comment thread on the internet - you won't regret.

p.p.s. Want to tell your friends or family about the letter? I made a new page, just for that. Should you like, you can now send them here:
