Well, the photo videos are officially a thing. I've really enjoyed making these, and they've pushed me to get out the door and keep shooting - all definitely a good thing.
It's also been gratifying to see the videos take on a life of their own - most folks who watched last month weren't regular readers of these letters - and in a sign I'm getting it right, more than half the audience was from Japan. Throughout all the years I've been sending these letters, I've worked hard to get the telling of each place right. It's a lovely feeling to see that folks from the place I'm taking photos connect with the work, too.
Anyhow, without further delay, here's this month's four minutes of beauty. Enjoy. :)
(As always, grab some headphones and go full-screen on the best screen you've got for optimal enjoyment!)
With lots of love, -Steven
p.s. The best thing I saw all week was this video by the brilliant Scott Yu-Jan, illustrating the power of making your own things via 3D printing. I owned a 3D printer for a few years when I was stationary in New Zealand, and felt so many of these same things. We're moving into an era where manufacturing won't be owned solely by massive corporations, and that's a very good thing. :)
